I have been turning a lot of acrylic for call's I went to the supplier today and there is a sticker on it saying it's known to cause cancer. what doesn't any more!! now I'm worried if it's safe for call's. I see acrylic used all the time for call's do I have anything to worry about? so cal hunter
I don't know but you know how it goes just because it's in use a lot doesn't mean something is safe. Every time you turn around there is a new study telling us not to use something that has been in use for years and years. I see now that bottled water has cancer agents in it if left in your car in the sun. I think I made 3 acrylic calls quite a few years ago and just didn't care for it. I would think if there is a danger it would be to the call turner more so than the user of the finished call. I'm certain antler dust isn't good for a person either. I've been using antler for ten years and I tell my wife that stuff is gonna kill me.
Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he can't win He'll just kill you.
